Cabbage Patch Birthday Party Decorations

Overview

Cabbage Patch Birthday Party Decorations : Overview :
Cabbage Patch Kids were originally sold at art fairs and then went on to become one of the most popular toys for children. Each individual doll is unique and comes with its own birth certificate. When it comes to Cabbage Patch-themed birthday parties, there are numerous decoration options that can be used to enhance the theme and serve as a festive and fun backdrop for the party.

Balloons

Cabbage Patch Kids party decorations should be colorful and fun. Purchase an assortment of regular colored balloons and special Cabbage Patch Kids balloons to inflate and decorate the room, entryways, tables, chairs and windows. If your local party supply store doesn't have Cabbage Patch Kids balloons, there are various online retailers that sell them. Companies such as the Party Theme Shop and the Party-Supplies-Mall.com offer a selection of themed balloons that can be delivered (see Resources below).

Paper Decorations

You can also create decorations to hang using poster board and construction paper. Print out pictures of different Cabbage Patch Kids and hang them around the room. You can also write the name of each guest on the picture and that can serve as a table place card and a take home favor. If you have the time and feel creative, make a large cardboard Cabbage Patch Kid and have all of the guests sign it when they arrive.

Table Décor

Embellish the table with Cabbage Patch Kids napkins, cups and plates. Use a Cabbage Patch Kid doll as the centerpiece or create your own. You can even place heads of cabbage around the table to add to the theme. The tablecloth could follow the theme or you can make your own by covering it with pages from a Cabbage Patch Kids coloring book. Leave crayons or markers out on the table so guests can color in their own doll and have something to keep them occupied.

Games and Activities

Set up party games and activities that can also serve as decorations. For example, instead of Pin the Tail on the Donkey, you can use a picture of a Cabbage Patch Kid. You can also play a Name That Cabbage Patch Kid game. Whoever identifies the most dolls' names correctly can be awarded a prize. You can also ask the guests to bring their own Cabbage Patch Kid and come up with games that utilize them. They can throw a play, swap dolls or create an accessory for their doll. Making bracelets, pins, shirts and hair clips for the dolls are just some ideas.

Party Favors

Have themed party favors like Cabbage Patch Kids stickers, notebooks, whistles, pencils and candy. The gifts bags can follow the theme or you can create special ones. One of the trademarks of the Cabbage Patch Kids are their individual birth certificates, so attach a copy of the certificate to a small bag and replace the name of the doll with the name of the guest. The birthday guest of honor can be given a new Cabbage Patch Kid to adopt and add to her collection.

Potential

Make sure that the party's decorations are appropriate for the age group of the guests. Additional Cabbage Patch Kids themed games and printable can be obtained online along with themed supplies such as invitations, balloons, party hats, favors and themed recipes (see Resources below).
