Care Bears 1st Birthday Decorations

Overview

Care Bears 1st Birthday Decorations : Overview :
First birthdays are a significant occasion as they celebrate a child's first year in the world. When it comes to decorations for 1st birthdays (Care Bear themed or other), it's important to make sure that the decorations are colorful and festive, yet not overwhelming. Placing the decorations in one particular area is a good idea because it limits distractions but is festive enough to mark the child's special day. Care Bears make for a great birthday theme because each of them has different colors, graphics and magical powers.

Balloons and Streamers

Purchase several Care Bear mylar balloons to create a festive atmosphere. These balloons are less likely to pop (as opposed to latex) and cause disturbance. Care Bear balloons are also available in the shape and size of the doll, so having a few of them will help the theme to really stand out. Hang streamers from the ceilings, windows, entryways and doors; if you can't find care bear themed streamers, buy a variety of colored ones that match the character colors.

Paper Decorations

Make special posters and birthday signs using markers and other craft materials. Print out assorted pictures of the Care Bears to decorate the room. Depending on the number of guests you are having, print out one Care Bear picture per person and write their name on it. The largest picture should have the name of the child whose birthday it is and that picture can be taped to the center of the wall, alongside all of the other Care Bear pictures with the guests' names. Trace the outline of a Care Bear sketch onto a piece of cardboard or other sturdy paper and have the guests sign it and write a message when they arrive at the party.

Table Décor

Care Bears Birthday Party Supplies (partysuppliesworld.com)Outfit the table with a Care Bear tablecloth and set out matching themed plates, cups, napkins and party hats. Place cards are great to have and can be easily made. Many websites offer free printable templates that can be personalized for your party (see Resources). Cutting out pictures of the Care Bears from old books or coloring books is another idea. If you feel especially creative, cut out the Care Bear whose colors and powers go best with each guest and set them around the table. This can also serve as a take-home party favor.

Table Centerpiece

Use a Care Bear propped up on something to serve as the centerpiece for the table. If you're buying a Care Bear for your child as a gift, you can place that in the middle of the table with ribbons and ornaments. Make sure to remove the gift while the guests are eating or doing an activity so it doesn't get ruined. PartyMerchant.com sells a 1st birthday Care Bear centerpiece box that can be personalized by placing a photo of the birthday honoree in the star with the Care Bears (see Resources).

Party Favors

Have party favors that double as decorations. Some ideas include Care Bear straws, masks, whistles, notepads and activity books. Be sure to keep the age of the guests (to avoid any risks) that will be attending the party. You can put Care Bear goody bags or make your own by taking regular little brown bags and decorating them in the theme.
