Birthday PartyKids birthday centerpieces add decoration and fun to birthday parties for any age. Simple, do-it-yourself crafts converted to centerpieces can be entertaining, delicious and great as a prize for a birthday game. These birthday party centerpiece ideas are appropriate for kids ages three and up.
Pirate Treasure Chest
Pirate themed birthday parties are a favorite among children. Kids can dress up like pirates, seek out treasure and play pirate games. For a creative centerpiece for a pirate birthday party, get a medium sized box that you can paint to look like a treasure chest. Add treasures to the inside like plastic beaded necklaces, kid rings and chocolate gold coins. If a box is not available to use for the pirate treasure chest, a medium sized jewelry box or a medium crate with a sheet covering will work just as well.
Lollipop Plants
Lollipop plants are easy and fun to make for any kids birthday party. Making several of them for a kids birthday party centerpiece spruces up the table by adding a touch of color. To make lollipop plants you will need three to five small tin flower pots, two packages of hard candies, nine to twelve large swirly lollipops and 15 to 20 regular lollipops in varying colors. Place the hard candies in the small tins filling them all the way to the top. Stick one, two or three large swirly lollipops into the pots filled with candy. Add the remaining lollipops to surround the large swirly lollipops. The lollipops are the plant while the hard candies act as the soil.
Artist's Delight
Kids love to draw, doodle and make wonderful art for the refrigerator so an art themed birthday party may be just perfect for them. An artist's delight centerpiece is the perfect way to enhance this party. Make a centerpiece by getting a medium sized plastic art caddy in a bright color like yellow, green or orange. Add notepads, crayons, colored pencils, water colors and small drawing pads. All of these items can be purchased in bulk to save money.
Bubble Tower
Don't expect this kids birthday party centerpiece to last long, since it is part of the party fun. This is only for outdoor birthday parties. Get as many bubble containers as you can afford. Often these run from small bottles for under a dollar to large bottles at one dollar a piece. Get them in bulk if possible for a discounted price. In the center of the table line up four rows of four to five bubble containers. On top of them add another row of bubbles minus one row. Continue until you have no more bubbles left. Let kids grab a bubble container to have a fun bubble party.
Gift Stack
Leave an open space on the main table of the birthday party. As guests arrive, have them add the gifts they bring to the center of the table. This is the easiest, free kids birthday centerpiece that can be made. Arrange the gifts so that large packages are on bottom and smaller ones are on top. Gift bags and very small packages can be places around the bigger boxed gifts.
