I graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Practical Writing. I was an Arts and Entertainment Writer for my college newspaper. I love writing about Entertainment issues, but also enjoy writing about women's and life issues, such as Diet and Fitness, and Relationships and Weddings.
Every little girl deserves to feel special on her birthday, and Disney makes that possible. With multiple princesses to choose from, your little girl has her favorite and can have the party of her dreams, complete with decorations, games and princess-themed treats.
Magic Fairy Wands
Make a magic wand for each guest out of pretzel rods, chocolate frosting, vanilla frosting and chocolate sprinkles. Microwave 1 cup of chocolate frosting in a glass 13-by-9 inch pan on high for 15 seconds until it melts. Pour the chocolate sprinkles in a shallow bowl. Roll each one of the 16 pretzel rods in frosting, and then dip it in sprinkles, before lying on a foiled cookie sheet. After refrigerating for 30 minutes, microwave the 1/4 cup vanilla frosting on high for 15 seconds, and then dip one end of each pretzel in the vanilla frosting. Refrigerate another 4 hours.
Sparkling Cider
The girls will enjoy drinking sparkling cider in fancy glasses. Decorate the glasses by adding a maraschino cherry or a little umbrella so they really feel like princesses.
Magic Ice Cubes
Prepare these by freezing pink ice cubes. Use pink lemonade and cranberry juice. At the party, serve each child Sprite or Vernors, and have them make a wish as they add their "magic ice cube."
Princess-Named Foods
You can refer to several foods you prepare as "princess foods," such as apple slices and caramel dip as "Snow White's Apples." Rainbow sherbet and 7Up is "Palace Potion," and mini tea sandwiches of tuna fish are now "Princess Ariel's Puffs."
The Cake
Every princess needs a castle cake. If you enjoy baking and want to try baking one yourself, head over to Michael's or Joann's and stock up on Wilton's specialty cake pans and cake decorating supplies. If baking is not your forte, then start calling and researching local bakeries in your area to find the perfect cake for your little princess.
