Party GamesThe beach and a party join forces in the luau party theme, reminding people of carefree days by the shore and enjoying themselves on vacation. When you throw a backyard luau, you want your guests to relax, socialize and have fun. Party games that permit large groups of players to participate at the same time are excellent ways to encourage your guests to get into the luau theme and enjoy the party.
Limbo
One of the classic activities chosen for many luau parties is the limbo. Individuals try to walk under the limbo stick while staying on their feet. The stick gets lower with each successful pass. The last player who doesn't knock the stick off its post while passing under it wins the game.
Ring Toss
Ring toss games are easy to set up and fun to play outdoors. The expense to set them up is low, and partiers can take turns quickly. This makes for a nice social game at a luau party. Ring toss requires a moderate level of skill but not so much that it demands intense concentration, limiting the opportunity to socialize.
Washer Toss
Washer toss games are popular at activities such as tailgate parties and backyard cookouts. They work well at luau parties too. Washer toss games are good options to use instead of horseshoes, as they involve throwing a washer, which is much smaller and lighter than a horseshoe, reducing the risk of injury or property damage at the party.
Volleyball
Luaus bring to mind the beach and warm weather, and so does volleyball. Set up a volleyball net, place a volleyball by the net and chances are a game will start up rather quickly during your luau party. Players of various skill levels and ages can play volleyball, which makes it an ideal luau party game.
