Ideas on How to Make a Pinata

Ideas on How to Make a Pinata :
Piñatas are a party favorite, and sometimes the thing that is more exciting than smashing the piñata is seeing what decorative design has been used for the piñata creation. If you want to stand out and create your own piñata, there are several ways you can do this, using mostly items found in your own home.

Papier-Mache

Using papier-mache is one of simplest ways to create a piñata with the best results. Simply blow up a balloon and coat it with pieces of newspaper dipped into papier-mache mix, which can be made of flour and water. Once the papier-mache dries, cut a small hole in the top of it and pop the balloon inside so that you can stuff the piñata full of items.

Box Pinata

If paper mache is too messy and time-consuming, you can rely on a cardboard box to act as your homemade piñata. The box should be secured using duct tape so that it takes more than one swing to bust it open. Use multiple boxes together to create different designs like cars, buildings and robots.

Mixed Piñata

If you want to be creative with your piñata, you can create a mix of both the papier-mache and box designs. For example, use a balloon and papier-mache to create a head and then shape a box to make a body for a piñata resembling a person.

Paint

Painting is the easiest way to decorate a piñata, because it is quick and simple. Do not worry about being too detailed, because the piñata will be destroyed fairly quickly. Use bright vibrant colors to make the piñata look fun and mix in some glitter glue to make it look even more appealing.

Tissue Paper

If you are going for the store-bought look on your piñata, purchase colored tissue paper. This process takes a bit longer, but it will add the traditional piñata look that many homemade versions seem to miss. Cut the tissue paper into little rectangle shapes and then layer them onto the piñata so that a small flap on the end hangs off. For this to look correct, the whole piñata should be covered, or a base paint may need to be added.
