Princess Party Game and Activity Ideas

Princess Party Game and Activity Ideas :
Princess party themes are one of the most popular birthday parties for little girls. From Disney Princesses to storybook princesses, this party theme can make it easier to plan for decorations and the cake. But what about princess party games? Whether you use a new game or revise a tried-and-true party game to fit the theme, princess party games will make your little girl's birthday party complete.

Princess-Themed Games

Get matching pairs of princess slippers (whether paper or costume)--one for each guest. Hide one of the pair somewhere in the house or yard and give the other slipper to each girl. They must hunt throughout the area to find the match. Play musical magic carpets with small carpet squares, place mats or even scarves. Pass the poison apple, pin the kiss on the frog and ring or crown relays round out the party fun.

Games With Props

Play games with princess props such as scarves, ribbons, crowns and jewels. Set up a treasure hunt and let girls know that an evil witch has taken the treasure and the princesses must find it. Have a box full of costume jewelry as the treasure--several for each girl. Put on some dancing music and let princesses twirl and spin with long ribbons or scarves. Hold a crown-decorating contest and give out a prize to each girl for categories like "most creative" and "sparkliest."

Make Old Games New

Put a Princess twist on some old games by changing a few words. Instead of "Simon Says," go with "Princess Says." Change "Mother May I" to "Princess May I," and revise "Duck, Duck, Goose" to "Frog, Frog, Princess."

Site Manager - Melanie When it comes to first birthday parties, I'm a true expert in the field! I have three curly-headed little girls and have thrown two of them really great first birthday parties. There's a story behind the missing party...maybe I'll share someday!

I'm a writer/editor in Austin, Texas and in my spare time I loooove throwing parties - just ask my poor husband! Fortunately for me, I have lots of friends who love to come over, hang out, and enjoy the fruits of my party planning labor!
