Party ThemesBatman's popularity as a party theme concept has come and gone more often than most. Batman has enjoyed a series of successes as a popular comic strip, movie serial, campy TV show and two completely different movie series. Thanks to Batman Begins and The Dark Knight movies, Batman has once again risen from the dark environs of Gotham City to take his place beside cakes, decorations and presents in homes around the country. Fortunately for those planning a Batman party, there is no shortage of great ideas.
Bat cave Invitations
An eye-opening invitation for a Batman themed party would be to have the traditional Bat symbol on the front with text along the lines of "Secret Meeting at the Bat cave. Open for more information." When opened, the time of the party and address information should be clear along with an imperative statement discussing the top-secret nature of the Bat cave meeting and admonition to speak to no one else because the Joker is back in town.
Cake
A Batman party offers a host of possible ideas for a memorable cake. The easiest would probably be simply a regularly shaped cake with the Batman logo on it. Any trained cake designer should also be able to provide you with a cake featuring a drawing of Batman or one of his super villains. If you want to get a bit more creative, make a 3-D cake in which you place Batman action figures into the scene created by the icing. And if you really want to blow partygoers away, pay for the privilege of serving a cake made by a quality professional that is actually in the the shape of the Dark Knight or the Joker.
Bruce Wayne Invitiations
Another idea for invitations is to go with Batman's alter ego. These invitations should make no mention of Batman at all, but should rather resemble invitations to a black tie high society event. Instruct attendees to show up wearing their Sunday best clothing and then have the party's Bruce Wayne greet guests in either a tuxedo or suit or tie. As the party progresses, introduce the Joker or another villain and allow Bruce to change into Batman and save the guests.
Villains
If you really want to go all out for your Batman party, check out the resource below on how to make inexpensive Batman villain costumes and get together with other people who will be attending the party to decide who wants to play which villain. Almost everybody loves a costume party, and a Batman costume party can be especially memorable since the Batman villains are so flamboyantly dressed and made up in the first place.
