How to Decorate a Blue's Clues Birthday Party : Overview :
The animated show "Blue's Clues" has been a hit with parents, children and critics alike for years. The show features a man, Steve and his dog, Blue. Blue and Steve play a game in each episode where Steve has to figure out the answer to Blue's question by following her paw prints and figuring out the clues she has left behind. Cute, entertaining and educational, a Blue's Clues birthday party is the perfect theme for a fan of the show.

Step 1

Choose blue. Use light and dark blue streamers and balloons. Hang the streamers on the walls and around the gift table. Tie a bouquet of blue balloons to the corner of the gift table, or let them float up on the ceiling. Some party stores may even have balloons with characters from the show on them.

Step 2

Add paw prints. Use blue construction paper and a template (see the Resources section below for a link) to cut out paw prints. Place the paw prints on the walls, the table and the cake. For the cake, use a blue tube of icing to create your paw prints.

Step 3

Add some characters from the show. Use the link in the Resources section to print out pictures of Blue and her friends, and hang them up around the party area. You can hang them from the streamers or tape them to the walls. If you are looking for an activity to do, print out coloring sheets and have your young guests color them.

Step 4

Decorate the guests. Make blue ears for the guests to wear. Cut some ears from blue construction paper similar to Blue's ears, and attach them to a paper headband that wraps around the forehead and staples in back of the head. Make one for each guest.

Step 5

Decorate with food. Serve "dog food" at the party. This can be chopped up pretzels or any other food item that might look like dog food, including Chex mix. If you are especially creative, try making cookies shaped like dog bones out of your favorite cookie recipe.

TIPS AND WARNINGS

  • TIP : Many toy stores carry Blue's Clues themed wrapping paper, plates, cups and other party accessories. Ask the guests to dress up either like Blue or Steve.
