Kid's Policeman Birthday Party Decorations

Make your child's next birthday party according to a policeman theme. The invitations, the party table, the games and the birthday cake itself all serve as features of the decorations. This saves a lot of time while creating the party itself as an integrated experience that no one will ever forget.

Birthday party decorations serve to build the expectations of the guests and preview what the party might be for. Decorating starts with the invitations. It is easy to make policeman invitations using a computer or by hand. Start by downloading a clip art policeman. Either print enough copies to cut out and glue one to each handmade invitation or copy and paste the policeman image onto a computer generated invitation. If you have the skills, paste the face of the birthday boy (or girl) on the head of the policeman. Make a birthday cake in the shape of a police car that you can use as a centerpiece on the birthday party table. Bake several different shaped layers of any flavor of cake that you want. You can use box mixes or make the cake from scratch. Lay out the layers on a large foil covered piece of cardboard so that they make the approximate form of the police car. Cut the shape of a car from a rectangular layer cake and use large round cookies to make the wheels. Then use frosting to unify the image. Add candy to cover over any gaps. During the party, blindfold the guests, turn them around and see which guest places the hat or the badge closest to the correct place on the poster. Use double sided cellophane tape to attach the hats or the badges to the policeman.
