Party ThemesMost little girls dream of becoming a princess. While in most cases this does not become a reality, you can easily treat the little girl in your life like a princess. The best way to do this is by hosting a princess party for the child's birthday or other special occasion. Multiple methods and a mix of ideas will make your child truly feel like a princess.
Decorations
Decorations should follow a royal fairytale theme. A lot of ribbons and fabrics strung across the walls will instantly put the princess theme into the room. Purple, gold, royal blue, and pink are all princess and royalty colors that should be used with the decorations. Use a collection of red felt and gold trimming to turn ordinary chairs into princess thrones.
Cake
You can find multiple ways to create a princess-themed birthday cake. One of the most popular designs is the princess-themed castle cake. A castle cake can be created by baking five square cakes to assemble the castle and using sugar cones for the towers. Add in colorful frosting to complete the cake (See Resources Below).
Dress
Make everyone feel like a princess by having the party guests dress up in princess costumes. You can go all out with simple dresses, or keep it simple by providing crowns, fake jewelry, and other accessories such as gloves.
Royal Ball
Almost every princess story or movie features the "royal ball." Clear out a room in your house or rent a space to host the princess ball. Treat the guests like royalty with serving trays and music selections, and just focus the ball on pure enjoyment. Invite boy guests as well to serve as "princes" of the ball.
Games
Play a variety of princess-themed games. Instead of pin the tail on the donkey, guests can play pin the crown on a princess. Play "Simon Says" with princess instructions, such as sip a cup of a tea with your pinkie out. Play musical chairs using a variety of princess music such as the soundtracks from classic Disney princess films like "Cinderella" and "Sleeping Beauty."
