Superhero Birthday Party Decorations

Superheroes make for great birthday party themes whether you are throwing the party for a boy or a girl. Whether the superhero of choice is Batman, Spiderman, HeMan, Wonder Woman, the Incredible Hulk or a similar character, you can incorporate the hero into your birthday party décor.

There are a number of different popular superheroes that appeal to kids. Ask your child which hero she prefers to help you with your theme. She may want to focus on a specific hero such as Wonder Woman or a group of heroes such as the Power Rangers. Additionally, she may want to incorporate several of her favorite superheroes into her party theme. Knowing which heroes you will be focusing on is the starting point of your birthday party decorating process.

Balloons are always a staple at birthday parties. Retail party stores such as Party City carry an array of different themed balloons. Visit a party store and see if they carry helium balloons for your superhero. You may want to use both decorative helium balloons and plain helium balloons. For instance, if you are throwing a Spiderman birthday party, purchase Spiderman balloons and plain red and black helium balloons. Tie the balloons to the chairs in your house, tying extra to the birthday boy's chair. Also, tie balloons to the mailbox to indicate to guests the party location.

Hang happy birthday banners with your superhero motif. You could have a banner specially designed at a sign store to include your child's name and pictures of her superhero. Additionally, you could purchase a superhero themed banner at a party store. Hang triangle banners with a superhero theme over your doorway and on your walls.

A superhero cake will be a must at your themed birthday party. You can either make the cake yourself or find a picture of a cake and have it made. Many grocery stores, such as Publix Supermarket, will make a replica of any type of cake you show them. See if they have superhero candles at the grocery store as well.

Use superhero paper products to add to your theme. Visit a party store and pick up plates, napkins and cups with your child's favorite superhero. If the store carries one but not all of these items with your theme, choose paper products with coordinating colors. For instance use red and black cups with your Spiderman plates and napkins
