Winnie the Pooh First Birthday Decorations

Winnie the Pooh First Birthday Decorations :
When your little one turns 1, it's time to celebrate with a themed party that he can really identify with. Winnie the Pooh and his friends have been delighting children for generations. Turn your party area into a corner of the Hundred Acre Woods with these Winnie the Pooh first birthday decorations.

Entrance

Make guests feel right at home at Pooh's Corner with a Winnie the Pooh sign at the front door welcoming them to the Hundred Acre Wood. Decorate the doorway with garlands of leaves and flowers, then place cut-out bees on a few of the flowers. Color a store-bought cutout or computer printout of Winnie the Pooh and affix it to the front door. Line the sidewalk, porch or hand rail with clusters of red and yellow balloons.

Party Area

In the party area, create simple yet impressive tree trunks out of large rolls of brown butcher paper and green leaves from poster board or butcher paper. Several large trees with full leafy branches can also house cutouts of birds and butterflies, as well as some familiar Winne the Pooh characters. Use green streamers to create a false leafy ceiling so it looks like the party is taking place in a clearing in the woods. Create cutouts of bees and butterflies and hang them from the ceiling using thread or fishing line.

Centerpiece

For a Winnie the Pooh centerpiece, a stuffed animal of the bear and any of his pals can be nestled among silk flowers and leaves for a cheery themed decoration. Or, pick up some roundish ceramic jars from the dollar store and some yellow, brown and white craft paint. Paint the outside brown, and when its dry, paint yellow "honey" around the rim and dripping down the side. Then write "HUNNY" in white paint to recreate Pooh's favorite snack. Cluster several together (set one upturned so it looks like Pooh just finished eating) and add bees to the side or hanging by threads just above the pots.

I'm a writer/editor in Austin, Texas and in my spare time I loooove throwing parties - just ask my poor husband! Fortunately for me, I have lots of friends who love to come over, hang out, and enjoy the fruits of my party planning labor!
